Valor Development plans 66-unit P Street Residences project in Shaw

Good news from yesterday's Housing Complex column in the Washington City Paper - Valor Development, the company behind other awesome projects like the Flats at Il Palazzo, 1617 Swann, and the Maia near the new H Street Corridor, has added Shaw to the list of neighborhoods they are working with.

The above rendering is of the P Street Residences, which will be built on P Street between 7th and Marion Streets, assuming all approvals go through and a portion of the parcel planned for development is successfully transferred from the District, which is the current owner.

This project means that all four corners of this intersection will be new development within the next few years. The southeast corner is already home to the John F Kennedy Recreation Center. Under construction on the southwest corner is the new City Market at O project. The northwest corner, currently home to the abandoned Kelsey Gardens, is set to become the Jefferson apartments, and now this project on the vacant lot on the northeast corner will complete the intersection.

Hopefully having all four corners of this intersection finished will spur continued development and restorations in all four directions. The City Market project is quickly becoming the new neighborhood node for Shaw!
