Own a piece of Shaw: 605 Rhode Island Avenue, NW #3
605 Rhode Island Avenue #3 has been on the market for 114 days. This unit is in a townhouse on the VERY busy Rhode Island Avenue. It has 3 units in the building and occupies the top floor. You avoid the noise of neighbors above you and have no one on either side. This unit has been beautifully updated and has all new appliances, a gas fireplace, new granite counters, and gorgeous hardwood floors. It has separate dining area and a HUGE parking pad. It was converted in 2003 and still shows like new. Coming in at almost 900 sq ft it is listed for $445 a sq ft. The average in Shaw is currently around $504 a sq ft and the condo fees are very reasonable at $199/month. This unit is on Rhode Island between 6th and 7th Streets. It is close to all that Shaw and U Street have to offer and it is VERY close to the Shaw Metro - .19 miles and a 15 minute walk to Logan/Dupont.
The details in this place are terrific and do a lot to
make up for the busy street!
The amount of stairs will save you $$$ on getting a gym membership!
Look at that ceiling and moldings! The details in this unit are spectacular.
There is a great pass through from the dining to the kitchen.
Nice bay window in the living room can easily hold a sofa
and has a great fireplace
The kitchen has been updated with new appliances
and great cabinets.
The kitchen is essentially the first room you come into
off the front steps. I have a thing against seeing the side
of a refrigerator but that’s just me.
The master bedroom is pretty spacious and has the same
great floors, crown moldings, and updated lighting
as the entire unit.
The second bedroom is good for an office or small guest
room. The unit only has 1.5 baths so it would work best
for a couple or a single person.
Bathroom is great with lots of storage. Again, a personal thing,
but I don’t like that all the cabinets don’t match. But overall
it’s a great bathroom space.
Very charming powder room!
The parking is uncovered but will accommodate larger cars,
which can be tricky to find in DC where space is at a premium.
Here is where the charm ends. The neighbor to the right of the unit is a car repair shop. That being said, like with anything, nothing is permanent and I am sure that as the neighborhood grows and changes, this may become a non-issue. It’s a gamble for sure, and certainly an eyesore now, but the place itself is amazing if you can look past this tiny detail.
