Shaw is getting better - Contemporary Wing takes over an abandoned building at 1250 9th Street NW

A new art show called NEXT Generation has taken over an abandoned building at 1250 9th Street NW just a few doors up from Wagtime and Longview Gallery across from the Convention Center. 

The show opened on February 4th, according to the poster out front, and runs through March 10th. 

Featuring "selections by artists in the 30 Americans collection", this show will bring an abandoned building back to life, if only for a temporary time period. Let's all do our best to encourage this type of progress in Shaw - even if a good permanent tenant is hard to find, pop-up uses like art galleries can lend a vibrancy to the street with very little investment in a build-out to the space.
